Community Care Committee  

In 2009 as a member of the Port Moody Community Care Committee I led a team of committee members working in conjunction with Port Moody City staff to complete an “Accessibility Audit” of Civic Buildings. The final report, presented to Council in 2009, included recommendations ranging from significant changes to minor adjustments to improve “Accessibility” and “Safety” at Port Moody civic facilities. Council and City Staff began in 2010 to incorporate the majority of the recommendations in future year capital or operating budgets.

Economic Development Committee

As a current member of the Port Moody Economic Development Committee I’ve led the sub-committee that has restarted the Committee’s annual program of Business Roundtables. After being discontinued for two years the Roundtables began again in 2011 with two sessions held in the first ½ of the year and a third planned for the fall. These forums provide an opportunity for Port Moody businesses to meet with key City representatives and the Economic Development Committee to discuss matters of concern or interest that can help foster a stronger business climate in Port Moody.

Port Moody Police Board

Since my appointment to the Port Moody Police Board in 2009 I have been a member of the Budget Sub-Committee.  I’ve had the pleasure of being the Police Board’s designate during my Board tenure to present the Department’s  Annual Budget and 5 Year Financial Plan to City Council. Also during my Police Board appointment I’ve been one of the Board’s designates to work on the Department’s recently released 3 Year Strategic Plan and have been actively engaged with the Department’s Steering Committee that is charged with implementing the Plan.
